Borovets is less than 1 hour from Sofia airport and 90 minutes from Plovdiv airport which makes it the best connected resort in Bulgaria. 95% of Borovets is covered in forests and national park. This means there is very limited building land in Borovets and the area cannot become overdeveloped. The resort will spread from the town of Samokov to the village of Beli Iskar and will be divided into three areas. The areas will be connected by numerous new ski lifts including two new cable cars. This will greatly extend the skiing area.
Attracting tourists throughout the year
The expansion will double the number of beds in the area and attract tourists throughout the year not just during the winter. Fishing, Walking and Mountain Biking are popular in the area and two new golf courses are planned for construction.
