Best luxury ski chalet – France

Chalet Mont Tremblant in Meribel

Winner of the 2016 best ski chalet in France,  Mont Tremblant is the ultimate ski chalet in style and design. This is Meribel’s most luxurious chalet and sits in its own grounds in the heart of Méribel. Designed by Stephane Couyoumdjian this spacious chalet is set in 600 square metres of luxurious surroundings with a particular attention to detail. The chalet is full of all the state of the art technology you could wish for but retains a wonderful alpine charm with old style wood and beige walls throughout.

In daytime the huge floor to ceiling windows allow natural light to flood through the chalet and afford the amazing views over the mountains. At night the chalet takes on a different feel and becomes a warm and cosy place to unwind and relax. Warm yourself  by the open fire, watch a film in the cinema room or play a game of pool in the chalets own bar. You also have the heated outdoor pool and the hot tub where you can soak your aches away while enjoying the stunning views.

All the chalets six bedrooms are individually designed with a beautiful mix of old style wood and contemporary features such as plasma TVs and modern fireplaces. All rooms have luxurious bathrooms with separate baths and invigorating monsoon showers. The master bedroom is the real star of the show though. Taking up the whole of the first floor this master suite has huge double height windows leading to the balcony where you can enjoy the spectacular views and a huge bathroom with walk in shower.

Best luxury ski chalet – Austria

Chalet Uberhaus

Nestling in the exclusive enclave of Oberlech sits chalet Uberhaus, winner of Austria’s best ski chalet at the 2016 World ski awards. With breath-taking views of the surrounding peaks, this ski-in and ski-out chalet is one of Lech’s most prestigious luxury properties.

The height of alpine chic, the chalet combines traditional materials with contemporary design and sumptuous soft furnishings to create a very elegant and sophisticated mountain retreat. The location right next to the piste means you can ski from the door or watch all the action on the piste from the slope side hot tub.

This designer chalet has a cool and contemporary design with lots of luxurious touches. All five bedrooms have luxury bathrooms and some are set up as family suites with bunks. The master suite is huge with a seating area and dressing room.

As well as the outdoor hot tub other facilities include a cinema room where you can chill in the evenings and watch the latest movies. There is a wine cave boasting a selection of fine wines and a snooker table. The wellness area has a sauna, a steamroom and a massage treatment room where you can arrange a masseur to visit. The chalet comes with a team on hand including chalet manager, executive chef and chauffuer.

San Lorenzo Mountain Lodge

Quite simply one of the most unique ski chalets in Europe. Lovingly restored by its passionate owners, San Lorenzo Mountain Lodge affords supreme levels of service in the most idyllic haven on earth. The slopes are a 15 minute drive away but why drive when you can jump in a helicopter from the lodge that will whisk you up to the top of the slopes in just four minutes.

Zermatt Peak
