The rainy season falls between May & November with an average temperature of 27C the climate is suitable for year round activity. Aside from the excellent surf, there are seven acres reserved for wildlife observation providing a precious habitat to local and migratory species, this is an ideal place to see rare sea turtles laying their eggs, the lagoon and reefs are perfect for snorkelling and the deserted beaches provide the freedom for horse riding. This rare and unspoilt coastline is also a haven for fishing, diving, body boarding and exploring the endless undeveloped beaches.

The beech is exposed to both SW & NW swells making the surf consistent all year. All beach & reef breaks are in front of the beachside lodge or within walking distance. For beginners there is a gentle sand bottom beach providing the optimum conditions for learning the basics. The north point of the lodge and breaks over a flat rock shelf provide some serious conditions for the experts.

The beautiful surf camp is renowned for adventure and relaxation and this is accentuated by the privacy of the five thatched bungalows, each with its own beachside balcony and hammocks to enjoy the warm evenings and the wildlife away from the more crowded areas of the Nicaraguan coastline.

Los Cardones does provide excellent food and evening entertainment in the beach restaurant. The cuisine is in keeping with the rest of the ecolodge using local produce and local chefs to ensure you enjoy all that Nicaragua has to offer. As there are only five bungalows the surf is never crowded, leaving you to enjoy the wide selection of quality waves.
