Lagos is the heart of the west Algarve and beautifully retains its small town charm. Ideally situated just under an hour from Faro airport Lagos is also the terminal of the Algarve railway. Lagos has its own modern marina, beach cafes, golf courses and within its ancient walls lies a network of bars, restaurants, year round entertainment and a bustling nightlife to suit everyone.

Itinerary & Highlights

The surf school is mobile, so you are taken to where the best waves are for that particular day. You will visit the best surf beaches on the South West and West coast of the Algarve. The beaches in this region are stunning and uncrowded, with excellent surf conditions for all levels. All vehicles are comfortable and more importantly, air-conditioned.

All lessons are taught by qualified BSA (British Surf Instructor) and FPS (Portuguese Surf Federation) coaches. Each teacher has a maximum of 10 students and lessons are generally 2 sessions of 1,5 hours each day breaking for a supplied lunch consisting of water, fruit, sandwiches, crisps, biscuits etc.

Intermediate surfers are accommodated in their own lessons, where they will be taught advanced techniques. Advanced surfers can join the surf tour, where they can experience the best surf beaches this fantastic region has to offer. Expert guides will take them to the best waves each day and offers tips and advice to improve their surfing.

All equipment is supplied (surfboard, wetsuit, leash, rash vest etc) and you are taught how to handle the equipment in a safe environment. Shade is also supplied.

Accommodation & Centre Details

We can offer a selection of accommodation options in Lagos depending on your taste and budget, from basic hostel accommodation to luxury beach hotels.

Surfcamp - The newly opened surf camp is in a lovely coverted Portugese house. The camp is aimed at single travellers who want to stay in a fun a socialble surf lodge, with other surfers and kitesurfers. rooms sleep four people sharing.

The lodge has a mature private garden with a home away from home feel to it, it offers a kitchen facility, is 5 mins from lagos town, 7 mins from beaches (not kite beach, this is 10 mins drive) laundry service available, supermarket over the road as well as bars and restaurants. The lodge also has a 7 seater hot tub, BBQ and massage nights.
