Itinerary & Highlights

Beginners - Our great value kitesurf school packages are aimed at beginners who want to learn an exciting new sport in a warm, beaurtiful setting. The beginner package includes 10 hours of high quality tuition to teach you the basic skills to go off and kitesurf on your own.

Intermediate/Advanced - we offer packages for experienced kitesurfers who just want to hire, high quality equipment and make use of the kite centre facilities and make new friends. If you want to improve your riding we can also offer intermediate kitesurf school and private advanced lessons. You are also welcome to take your own equipment. We will includeairline sports baggage charges, storage and use of the kite centre facilities.

We can also include private lessons & video coaching.

The spot on Mauritius

A dream spot: a white sandy beach, a turquoise lagoon and shallow water. The whole lagoon is surrounded by a reef, which is 600 metres off of the beach. Depending upon the tide, the water might be so shallow at low tide that sometimes neither the reef nor the lagoon can be surfed. Within the lagoon there is enough space for speed racing or practicing gybes and water starts.

Outside you can find two wave spots: “Little Reef” with modest waves and “Manawa” for experienced windsurfers, who can participate in one of the regular surfing excursions to this spot.

The famous “One Eye” is only suitable for experts. Windsurfing tuition takes place directly in front of the centre in an area which is shared by experienced kitesurfers and windsurfers. The courses for kitesurfing beginners are held in a protected and in parts waist-deep lagoon. We recommend wearing shoes in the lagoon.

Surfing - Mauritius has several excellent surfing spots, which can be reached directly from the centre. Surf rental is only available together with supervision from the boat. It is crucial to follow the team’s instructions at any time, as currents, tides and waves can be rather dangerous depending upon the conditions.

Wind and waves
The wind usually blows from east or southeast (side shore from the left) and reaches a strength of 3-5 beaufort on average during summer in the southern hemisphere and about 4-6 beaufort during winter. In winter (April to October), the trade wind shows its best side. Between December and April there can be heavy rainfall.

The center

Our center is located in Le Morne on the premises of the Indian Resort Hotel embedded in shady palm trees with a perfect view of the spot. Directly next to it you will find a pool (only for hotel guests) and the beach restaurant. The waters edge is only a few steps away. Close to the kite lagoon we have arranged storage. Security is our top priority: the centre is equipped with two rescue boats.

Les Pavilions

The recently re-opened Spa-Hotel Les Pavillons is another paradise on earth. A magnificent and sophisticated 5-star resort for highest demands. The hotel is a relaxed 10 minutes walk away from the kite centre. The colonial-style buildings sit amidst a beautiful tropical garden at the foot of Mont Brabant. The resort embodies timeless elegance and a perfect harmony between natural materials and soft colours that creates a relaxing and extravagant atmosphere. Several restaurants and bars pamper the guests with culinary specialities. In the evenings the guests enjoy a variety of restrained entertainment such as live music.
The resort provides 3 outdoor swimming pools, one of them with kids area.

Indian Resort

This superior 4-star hotel could not be better located for wind- and kitesurfers. Our Club Mistral and Skyriders Center is adjacent to the beach bar and thus right on the magnificent lagoon at the foot of Le Morne Brabant Mountain. The extensive complex with 265 rooms offers sufficient alternatives for all tastes. The hotel features 5 excellent restaurants (main buffet restaurant, French, Italian and Indian restaurant à la carte and a health-food restaurant inside the Spa), 3 bars and a night club. The large pool is surrounded by a sundeck and sits right at the edge of the beach.
The Thalasso Center is one of the best on the island, offering everything to refresh the mind and body. A modern fitness center, 4 tennis courts and a comprehensive entertainment program ensure that guests never need to feel bored

Mornea

The family friendly Hotel Mornea has finally opened its doors in March. It is right next door to its sister-property Indian Resort & Spa and located towards the kite lagoon. A small shuttle train will operate between the 2 properties so the guest can easily reach the kite centre at Indian Resort. The Mornea Hotel is a perfect alternative for families as it offers spacious family rooms. It is also a more affordable than the sister hotel. It shares part of the grounds and also some facilities of the Indian Resort, such as the Spa, the gym and the kids club.
Hotel Mornea offers two restaurants and a bar, a shop and a laundromat as well as a swimmingpool and massage huts in the tropical gardens.
Various sports activities as well as evening entertainment complete the range of services offered.

Activity - Sometimes activities cannot be completed, due to weather conditions. if this is the case you will be refunded for the activity cost of the holiday only. If you have completed part of a course you will recieve a refund that reflects this and be part refunded.
