Kite Camp

The newly opened kite camp is in a lovely coverted Portugese house. The camp is aimed at single travellers who want to stay in a fun a socialble kite lodge, with other kiteboarders and surfers. rooms sleep four people sharing, although we can also offer double en-suite rooms.

The Kite lodge has a mature private garden with a home away from home feel to it, it offers a kitchen facility, is 5 mins from lagos town, 7 mins from beaches (not kite beach, this is 10 mins drive) laundry service available, supermarket over the road as well as bars and restaurants. The lodge also has a 7 seater hot tub, BBQ and massage nights. Packages include, flights, transfers, 7 nights shared accommodation, with breakfast, 10 hour beginner or intermediate kitesurf school, with transport, equipment & lunch.

Our kite surf courses and lessons are appropriate for both beginners and intermediates. Year round wind and great scenery make kite surfing in the Algarve really special. The kitesurfing is in and around the shallow warm water estuary of Alvor, a stones throw from the exciting town of Lagos. Kite courses are seven or fifteen hours. This can be extended necessary.

Lagos is the heart of the west Algarve and beautifully retains its small town charm. Ideally situated just under an hour from Faro airport Lagos, so away from the busy tourist meccas and package resorts. Lagos has its own modern marina, beach cafes, golf courses and within its ancient walls lies a network of bars, restaurants, year round entertainment and a bustling night life to suit everyone.

Itinerary & Highlights

Your friendly English speaking instructors are highly experienced and qualified BKSA kitesurf teachers. You will be picked up from your hotel by your instructor and transfered to the mouth of the Lagos estuary, where calm waters are perfect for training. For the more experienced riders, just over the beach is the Atlantic Ocean.

Groups are kept to a minimum and equipment is of the highest quality, ensuring you get the most out of your lessons. The school is BKSA recognised. The beginner course is over 7 hours and usually lasts 3 days. This can be extended to a comprhensive 15 hour course.

The Alvor estuary is one of the best spots to learn kite boarding in the Algarve and is one of the stops in the professional kite surfing world tour each year. The estuary itself is adjoined to the ocean and hence as well as a beautiful setting is also a safe one. With the Atlantic Ocean just the other side of the sand dunes, providing another perfect setting for kite surfing albeit with the more advanced kiters looking for an open ocean experience and from time to time some waves as well.
