Safaga

Safaga is built aorund the wide bay, with long sandy beaches and a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. It is less than an hour south of its larger and busier cousing, Hurghada. Nightlife here is much less frenetic, so this is a great choice for a chilled out and relaxing holiday.

Itinerary and highlights

Relatively undiscoverd, Safaga offers some fantastic diving. Located just south of Hurghada, most diving is conducted by boat to reach the spectacular offshore reefs and wall dives for which Safaga is renowned. There are a vast number of reefs just a short boat ride from the shore, where you will find a huge array of marine life, including schooling juvenile barracuda, stingrays, trigger fish, puffers and groupers. Further out there are some truly awe inspiring walls, dropping down hundreds of metres into the deep below.
